MemCat Partners Join the European Researchers’ Night 2025 Across Europe

On 26 September 2025, the MEMCAT Project was proudly represented by its three partners — Università della Calabria (Italy), University of Jyväskylä (Finland), and University of Vigo (Spain) — during the European Researchers’ Night, one of the largest public science events in Europe.

Although located in different countries, the three teams shared one common goal: to bring science closer to the public and raise awareness about climate change and sustainable solutions.

Engaging Activities in Three Countries

Each partner organized local activities tailored to their audience:

  • UNICAL (Calabria, Italy) welcomed visitors of all ages to explore the science behind the greenhouse effect through live demonstrations and interactive experiments. The event attracted many families and students, who were eager to learn how greenhouse gases impact our planet.
  • JYU (Jyväskylä, Finland) showcased the MEMCAT project’s objectives and research progress, sparking valuable discussions on environmental sustainability and innovative materials for carbon capture.
  • UVigo (Vigo, Spain) presented the project’s mission to the local community, distributing informative materials such as posters and brochures, and engaging visitors in conversations about the role of scientific research in tackling climate change.

One Project, One Mission

Across three countries, MEMCAT partners worked together to spread knowledge and inspire the next generation of researchers. The enthusiasm of the public — especially children and families — highlighted the importance of communicating science in accessible and engaging ways.

The event demonstrated how collaboration and shared vision can bridge geographical distances, reinforcing MEMCAT’s commitment to scientific excellence, public engagement, and a sustainable future.
