Date: 2–5 June 2026
Location: Badolato Borgo, Calabria, Italy
From 2 to 4 June 2026, the MemCat consortium held its Month 24 project meeting in Badolato Borgo, Calabria, Italy. The meeting was organized by the University of Calabria and marked the completion of the second year of the project. It provided an opportunity for partners to review progress across all work packages, discuss scientific and technical achievements, and plan activities for the next phase of the project.

The MemCat project, funded by the European Innovation Council (EIC) under the Horizon Europe Pathfinder Open programme, aims to develop innovative catalytic technologies for the conversion of CO₂ into ethylene. During the meeting, consortium partners presented updates on their respective tasks, shared results, and discussed future research directions. Representatives from partner institutions across Europe, including Portugal, the Netherlands, Finland, Germany, Spain, and Italy, participated in the technical discussions.
Following the consortium meeting, MemCat participated in the TEENTECH2 DAY dissemination event, organized by 1 Cube on 5 June 2026 in Badolato Borgo. The event brought together several European projects, researchers, students, and members of the local community to promote science communication and public engagement.

TEENTECH2 DAY featured interactive demonstrations, scientific experiments, and educational activities designed to make research and innovation accessible to a broad audience. Children, students, and citizens had the opportunity to interact directly with researchers and learn about scientific topics and technologies developed within European-funded projects.
The event provided a valuable platform for dissemination, increasing the visibility of MemCat and fostering dialogue between the scientific community and society. The participation of researchers from different countries and cultural backgrounds contributed to the international dimension of the initiative, while the unique setting of Badolato Borgo encouraged meaningful exchanges between project representatives and the local community.
MemCat’s participation in both the Month 24 consortium meeting and the TEENTECH2 DAY event contributed to strengthening collaboration among project partners, promoting knowledge exchange, and enhancing public awareness of the project’s objectives and potential societal impact.
